Vivian Leigh performs scenes from her movie "Gone with the Wind" for members of the RAF, RAAF and WAAF at Binbrook RAF Station. 18536 Corporal (Cpl) William John (Bill) Cook and 34126 Corporal Charles Morris (Charlie) Catt, 460 Squadron RAAF, assisted with the operation of the sound and lighting for this and other shows and dances on the base. For the Vivian Leigh performance they used Aldis signalling lamps as spotlights with tables and chairs to gain enough height. This photograph was published in Picture Post on 16 October 1943 with the caption "A thousand people see the stars in the bomber station. Vivien Leigh re-enacts a scene from 'Gone With the Wind'. British and Australian members of the RAF and WAAF crowd the bomber station's canteen. In the front sit to CO, Group Captain Hugh Edwards VC DSO DFC, of low-level bombing fame, Air Vice Marshal C A B Rice DSO, and Air Commodore Arthur Wray DSO, MC, DFC, AFC."
