Studio portrait of NX16688 Private (Pte) Leslie Edward Bell, 2/13 Battalion, of Queanbeyan, NSW. Pte Bell enlisted for service on 23 May 1940 and served in the Middle East prior to his arrival in New Guinea on 30 July 1943. Pte Bell was killed in action near Finschhafen on 26 September 1943, aged 24 years.
