Studio portrait of 3720 Private (Pte) Albert Leslie Davidson, 8th Battalion, of Cheltenham, Victoria. A despatch clerk prior to enlistment, Pte Davidson embarked for overseas service aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 23 November 1915. Whilst stationed in Tel el Kebir, Pte Davidson transferred to the 59th Battalion and arrived in France on 29 June 1916. Pte Davidson was killed in action on 17 August 1918, aged 21 years.
