Informal portrait of, left to right, 2781647 Private (Pte) William Victor Assange, 216701 Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Michael Gunther Joseph Deak MC (AKA Baron Von Berg, Michael Gunther Joseph), both of 5 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (5 RAR), and an unidentified Australian serviceman. 2nd Lt Deak was awarded the Military Cross for his actions as commanding officer of the 5 RAR Anti-Tank Platoon on 17 October 1966 during Operation Queanbeyan in Phuoc Tuy province, Vietnam.
