Studio portrait of NX60079 Lance Sergeant (L Sgt) John Frederick Down, Headquarters, Royal Australian Artillery. This image is one of a collection relating to the service of NX60079 L Sgt John Frederick Down, who was taken prisoner of war (POW) of the Japanese after the fall of Singapore in February 1942. L Sgt Down survived the war and was repatriated back to Australia in October 1945. He was discharged from service in January 1946.
