Description
The Wellington memorial bronze sculpture by artist Gilbert Doble. Established in 1923 and incorporating Winged Victory and two side figures, this sculpture surmounts the memorial. Seated at centre is "Winged Victory" with sword. A partly armoured figure holding a palm branch is alongside and the third figure represents History. The memorial was erected to the men of Wellington who gave their lives in the First World War.
