Description
Collection of ten stereographic cards relating to the visit of the Duke of York to Australia during Federation celebrations and the South African (Boer) War. The collection includes three George Rose stereographic cards showing the review of troops by the Duke of York at Centennial Park in Sydney on 4 January 1901 and photographers capturing this event. The collection also features seven Underwood & Underwood stereographic cards showing war damaged buildings in Mafeking, New South Wales Lancers with captured Boer prisoners, troops during the great march to Pretoria, Major General Robert Baden-Powell and Major Alexander Godley.
