Sargent, Laurel (Civillian)
Description
Collection of two original handwritten letters written to Laurel Sargent after the Second World War, thanking her for sending tins of food to families in England during the war. Laurel Sargent's mother sent over the tins of food, but signed the tins with her daughter Laurel's name (who was only a young child at the time). The first letter is from a daughter writing on behalf of her mother to thank Laurel for the tin of 'Nestles Milk' (with Laurel's name and address written on it), dated 23 May 1948. The second letter is from a widow and also thanks Laurel for the tin of 'Nestles Milk' as well as asking if Laurel would like to keep corresponding with her, dated 5 April 1949.
