Description

Agnes Corfield was educated at Maryborough and received her nursing training at the Brisbane General Hospital. She resigned an appointment in Maryborough and embarked for the war in May 1915 where she worked on transport ships evacuating sick and wounded men from Gallipoli. Sister Agnes Beryl Corfield, was stationed at No. 15 General Hospital in Cairo when she died of influenza on the 2 February 1916, aged 24. She is buried in Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt.
