Description
Informal group portrait of Australian soldiers of 1st Light Horse Regiment and 2nd Battalion. Identified, first and second from left, are brothers 438 Private (Pte) Edward Thomas McCristal, 2nd Battalion, and 181 Pte Timothy William McCristal. This was the first time the brothers had seen each other since arriving in Gallipoli and had not known if each other had survived up until this point. One of a series of photographs from an album relating to the service of Lieutenant William Hopkin 'Hop' James, 1st Light Horse Regiment.
