Collection relating to Tpr Eric William Braunholz (3293), 5th Light Horse Regiment
Description
Studio portrait of 3293Private (Pte) Eric William Braunholz, 5th Light Horse Regiment, wearing a distinctive plume of emu feathers on his slouch hat. A labourer from Jandowae, Queensland prior to enlistment, Pte Braunholz embarked with the 27th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Port Sydney in 9 May 1917. Whilst serving in the Middle East he contracted malaria and was hospitalised. He returned to Australia on 28 January 1919.
