Informal outdoor portrait of, left to right, 410039 Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Walter Evan Chitty RAAF, Mr W A Riddick (a London resident) and 410941 Flying Officer (FO) Frederick Clifford (Freddie) Boyce RAAF, standing in front of bombed buildings. On 30 July 1944, while serving with No. 514 Squadron RAF, Flt Lt Chitty was killed during operations over the French coast. He was aged 22. FO Boyce was accidently killed on 24 December 1943 while serving at the Royal Air Force Station, Abu Sueir, Middle East. He was aged 23.
