Description
Portrait of 1656 Gunner (Gnr) Joseph Rusten, 13th Field Artillery Brigade. Gnr Rusten enlisted at Lithgow in August 1915 along with two of his brothers, 1654 Gnr John Rusten and 1655 Gnr William Rusten. A fourth brother 524 Private Albert Patrick Rusten enlisted at a later date and served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment. Gnr Joseph Rusten saw service in France and returned to Australia in 1919 as did William and Albert. Gnr John Rusten died as a result of concussion in France on 10 July 1918.
