McLinden, Winifreda (VAD, b.1897 - d.1984)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Winifreda McLinden, British Voluntary Aid Detachment. Collection consists of an autograph book given to Winifreda by her sister Agnes on the occasion of her 20th birthday. Winifreda McLinden was a Voluntary Aid Detachment member working at No 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital in Southall England during 1918. Many of the verses, drawings and signatures in the autograph book are from Australian servicemen who were recuperating at the hospital during that time.
