Description
Informal portrait of 4189 Private (Pte) Louis Thomas Parsons, 27th Battalion, seated in a rickshaw. A police constable from Adelaide, SA prior to enlistment, Pte Parsons embarked with the 10th Reinforcements from Adelaide on RMS Mongolia on 9 March 1916. Following his promotion to Lance Corporal he was listed as missing in action. A subsequent court of enquiry determined that he had been killed in action on 5 November 1916. Having no known grave, he is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux memorial, France. A sign at the base of the wheel reads "Hopetoun Studio".
