Brandon, Frederick Christoph
Description
Original one page letter dated 19 May 1916 written from Egypt by 4372 Private (Pte) Frederick Christoph Brandon, 25 Battalion AIF, to his sister Jinnie. Topics he writes about include the hot temperature, duties he is performing in camp, animals, receiving mail, and his brother Jim whom he has been trying to contact. He writes about his lack of interest in the country, suggesting that his only interest was in the military horses. Writing about the letter he received from a young lady, he comments '...I was glad to receive it. It makes one feel good when he gets a letter or two'. Pte Brandon was killed in action in France on 5 November 1916.
