Wallet 1 of 1 - Comprises a typed and illustrated manuscript containing transcriptions of the letters written to and from Greaves during his service in the First World War, and of the diary written by Greaves in 1918. The diary entries include details on Greaves' being wounded by shrapnel, his recovery in hospital, and repatriation back to Australia. He also mentions an award recommendation for [2902 Sergeant John] Whittle. The letters contain details of Greaves' movements and activities at home, including comfort parcels and knitting for the war effort. The manuscript has been illustrated with scanned images of wartime photographs, maps, and memorabilia. The manuscript also includes a summary of Greaves' wartime service, and biographical information about Greaves and his extended family. The transcripts were typed, and compiled into the 30-page illustrated document, by Greaves' daughter-in-law, Molly Greaves, in 2014.
