Description

Plain steel tube 25mm in diameter, with bullet damage to one end. The other end is fitted into a bronze sleeve which connects with a cuprous articulated hose, which itself ends in a bronze coupling. A slotted bar with a wing nut is fastened to the sleeve which houses the hose element. The coupling is inscribed with the Maker's details: 'J Morris and sons Ltd Manchester', and 'Morris's patent No 13831-15'

The bronze elements are painted in a dull olive drab. The steel tube is unpainted.

History / Summary

This fitting closely resembles that which was fitted to British flamethrowers used during the raid on Zeebrugge.
