Mined off Mallacoota / by Dr Sarah Mirams
Collection relating to the military maritime history of East Gippland and South Coast New South Wales from the First World War. Collection consists of a 20 page published manuscript titled "Mined off Mallacoota : A World War I Maritime Military History of East Gippsland and South Coast New South Wales : A Report prepared for the Mallacoota and District Historical Society". The research and report, written by Dr Sarah Mirams in May 2013, were funded by a grant from the Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme. The report details the maritime military history of the remote southeast coastline of Australia, with particular focus on the Cumberland incident, where the British freighter Cumberland hit a German sea mine, laid by the raider Wolf, of the coast of Gabo Island in 1917.
