Description

Pair of size 7C Taipan brand tan boots as issued to Special Operations Command troops during the late 1990's. The boots have Army issued Terra type boot lace fitted. The rear left of the right boot shows signs of heavy use with a tear approximately 17mm in length. The sole consists of a thick dark brown coloured rubber, with the tread heavily worn in particular on the ball of the each boot.

History / Summary

These boots were worn by Lieutenant Colonel C Johnston of the Army History Unit whilst deployed as an escort officer/team leader with the inaugural Australian War Memorial History Field Team to the Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO) during November 2009 and December 2009.
