Collection relating to Sergeant Francis 'Frank' Arthur Abbott 3170, 33 Battalion AIF
Four photographs relating to 3170 Sergeant (Sgt) Francis 'Frank' Arthur Abbott, 33rd Battalion. These include: a black and white group portrait of the Beatty family in civilian dress taken in 1917. Identified in the image is John Beatty, his wife Annie (nee Abbott- an elder sister of Sgt Abbott) and their children Dorrie and Glen; a signed studio portrait of 33 (later 4390) Sergeant Arthur Thomas Gates, 16th Field Ambulance, circa 1917; a candid photograph of Sgt Gates boarding a ship, behind which an unknown blind Australian serviceman is led onboard by a nurse, and; a black and white group portrait of the Duffin family in civilian dress taken in the 1940s. Identified in the image is Cecil Duffin, his wife Ivy (nee Abbott - the younger sister of Frank) and their three sons. Both Annie Beatty and Ivy Duffin can be seen with their siblings in AWM2016.26.20.
