Description
Collection relating to the service of 401614 Flight Lieutenant John Arthur Critchley, 460 Squadron, 1944-1945. Collection consists of three handwritten notebooks kept in relation to aircraft during the period 1944-1945. Critchley flew 'G for George' in 1944 and captained it on its last three sorties over Germany, and also flew York aircraft. The notebooks contain technical information such as inventories of flight times, aviation and navigation diagrams and flying instructions, as well as other miscellaneous notes.
Flight Lieutenant Critchley was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross [DFC] in 1944.
