Collection related to 2784336 Signalman Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, and his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968.
Patti McGrath performing in The Melbourne Show for troops at Luscombe Bowl at Nui Dat in late September 1967. Denise 'Ding-Dong' Drysdale also performed at the same event. One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by 2784336 Signalman Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, during his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. Sig Weller recalls: "I saw this show twice and it was during the second performance the heavens opened up. It was Patti – and I doubt she could see we blokes in the back row camped on the Bowl rim – who stopped in the middle of a song (and deluge) to thank us all for staying. Leave? Are you kidding me? I’ve only got Wiley, Booker and Edwards to look at when I go 'home'! If you stay – I’m staying! In fact, everybody on the hill’s going to stay if you do. They’ll have to dynamite us off here!"
