Description
A member of the US Army's 41st Battalion detachment, Stephen Kottman, kneeling beside its communications building at Nui Dat. One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by 2784336 Signalman (Sig) Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, relating to his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. Sig Weller notes: "When I arrived in country, their [the 41st Battalion's] communications box was protected by many sandbags, but these rotted and collapsed. A major rebuild was instigated and after the sandbagging was completed, this wooden building was built over it to keep the bags dry. I recall Stephen doing a good deal of work on the rebuild."
