Description

Map of the town of Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu), in British North Borneo (now the East Malaysian state of Sabah. The map forms part of the records relating to the service of Major Tom Harnett Harrisson, DSO Reconnaissance Corps, British Army. Harrisson was seconded to Z Special Unit, Services Reconnaissance Department and served in Borneo as party leader on Operation Semut 1 during the Second World War. Map shows a small part of the South China Sea coastline, populated places, main roads and tracks, railway, rivers and streams, estates, terrain features. Relief shown by shading. "LHQ/025/3171".
