“He was killed on a road about 300 yards from Lagnicourt on March 26th, at a spot where our front line crossed the road, I gave him a cigarette at this point 3pm. At 5p.m I saw his dead body at the same spot. I know nothing as to burial. He belonged to XI pl. C. Coy.”
