Collection of photographs relating to Flight Officer Norah Pamela Cooke and her service during the Second World War. Born in Adelaide, SA, Cooke volunteered for the Women’s Air Training Corps before enlisting in the Women’s Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) as part of the first intake on 23 October 1941. She was posted to Air Force Headquarters in Melbourne in an admistration role. Following a series of promotions, Cooke was selected for an Officers Training Course and then posted 2 Training Group Headquarters in Wagga Wagga, NSW. In 1944, Cooke was transferred back to Air Force Headquarters until the end of the war. She was demobilised on 15 February 1946 and married Lieutenant Ronald Clyde Penglase DSC, RANVR, later that month.
