Description
Depicts three oil wells burning in a flat Kuwait landscape, filling the horizon with smoke. Anne Gray notes of this work; 'Judy Watson provided an environmental perspective on the [First] Gulf War. Her expressive lithograph portrays the black smoke which poured out from the burning oil wells and was spread over the terrain by dust storms. Watson depicted a characteristic aspect of this war, and one which was cause for alarm for many concerned with the preservation of the environment.'
