Funeral procession along the main street of Privates C. H. Shepherd, Ralph Jones and Benjamin Gower Hardy, all of the 22nd Garrison Battalion. They were killed repelling the Japanese outbreak at the 12th Australian prisoner of war (POW) camp at Cowra, NSW, on 5 August 1944. Hardy and Jones were posthumously awarded the George Cross 1 September 1950.
