Singapore. 1945-09-09. Douglas C-47 'Dakota' transport aircraft of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) carrying members of the 1st Australian Paratroop Battalion, approaching the Kallang aerodrome for a landing. Kallang was the closest airfield to the Central Business District of Singapore and was the pre-war international airport for both conventional aircraft and flying boats.
