Informal portrait of two ex-prisoners of war of the Japanese soon after their arrival at the Changi gaol in Singapore from Thailand. Identified on the left is NX69312 Driver Allan Borley, 2/3 Motor Transport Company from Annandale, NSW and on the right is SX5217 Private Steve Wade 2/3 Machine Gun Battalion from Monash, South Australia. Both were captured in Java in March 1942 and recovered from the Japanese in Siam (Thailand) on 20 August 1945. They both arrived back in Australia on 7 October 1945.
