Description
A Vickers Warwick twin engined aircraft. Built using the same geodetic construction as the Vickers Wellington, but with a longer wingspan and larger airframe, the Warwick was originally designed to replace the Wellington. Warwicks went into service in 1943 with Coastal Command as an armed reconnaissance and maritime patrol aircraft. Other versions were built as unarmed transports and air sea rescue aircraft. This aircraft has been finished in camouflage colours but has a civil registration number of G-AGFK indicating that it is probably one used by the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) as a passenger aircraft during the Second World War.
