Description
Typed photocopy of Le Souef's autobiography "To war without a gun" which was published by Artlook, Perth, 1980. Bulk of manuscript covers capture in Crete, life as a doctor treating fellow prisoners of the Germans. Le Souef was the senior Australian medical officer in Crete. Mentions work in camp hospitals, the conditions and treatment, including Russian POW (prisoners of war) interned in Annaburg, Elsterhorst and Konigswartha. Black and white photographs of Crete, fellow POWs, post war release, reunions and maps.
