Description
The parade of the 9th Australian division at Gaza airport during the inspection by the Commander in Chief, Middle East, General Sir Harold Alexander. After the inspection General Alexander addressed the troops, recalling the 9th Divisions great deeds during the battle of El Alamein. The 9th Division wore its new divisional colour patch in the shape of a T - standing for Tobruk - for the first time during this parade. Identified is SX13726 Private Len Turner, 2/28 Battalion (foreground).
