British Pattern 1899 Cavalry Trooper's Sword and Scabbard : New South Wales Cavalry
Description
British Pattern 1899 Cavalry Trooper's sword and scabbard. The hilt has a sheet steel guard, stamped NSWG C 1390 01, with a re-inforced inner edge. The grips are black checkered compressed leather fitted to the tang by three large rivets. The slightly curved blade has a single fuller to each side to within eight inches of the spear point. The ricasso is stamped with inspectors marks, 2 01, WILKINSON LONDON and a double arrow sale mark. The steel scabbard has two fixed strap rings on each side of the throat which is stamped NSWG C 1708.
