Spanish Pattern 1905 Cavalry or Mounted Police Sabre and Scabbard
Description
Spanish cavalry or mounted police sabre and scabbard. The hilt has a light sheet steel half basket guard with checkered black leather grips held to the tang with two rivets. The plain single edged curved blade is marked on the ricasso FABRICA DE TOLEDO 1905. The steel scabbard has a single loose ring on a band 80 mm from the throat. It appears that this sword has been in a fire. The metal scabbard and hilt are badly rusted and the left grip is missing a large section.
