North African Nimcha Sword and Scabbard
Description
North African Nimcha sword and scabbard. The hilt has double downward quillons from the crossguard and a single bar over the knuckle that is not attached to the pommel. The wooden grip with an L shape steel capped pommel has an overall inlaid roundel pattern and a steel ferrule collar. The broad, slightly curved blade has the remnants of a wide fuller on each side to within 200 mm of the spear point. The scabbard is brown leather over wood having an embossed rectangular line pattern.

This type of sword was used by native tribesmen in North Africa. It possibly originated in Morocco.
