Third Reich Army Officer's Dress Sword and Scabbard
Description
German Third Reich Army Officer's sword and scabbard. The hilt is a P shape gilt/brass stirrup type with an eagle and swastika on the crossguard. The pommel is a lions head, with red glass eyes, having the mane and an oak leaf design down the backstrap. The grip is black plastic bound with aluminium wire. The plain, slightly curved blade has a single fuller to each side and the ricasso has the trade mark of Robert Klaas & Cie, Solingen of two storks. The black painted scabbard has a single loose ring attached to a band 70 mm down from the throat and paint around the drag shoe is worn off.
