German Third Reich Police Officer's Sword and Scabbard
Description
German Third Reich Police Officer's sword and scabbard. The chrome plated hilt is a single bar 'D' section stirrup type with a black painted grip having a nickel acorn leaf ferrule but the eagle and swastika badge superimposed in the centre is missing. The straight blade has a single fuller to each side and the ricasso is stamped PET.DAN.KREBS SOLINGEN around a square with the symbol of a lobster. The black painted scabbard has a nickel silver plated chape and a locket of a Nordic cross lace design. It is badly dented on the back edge and is slightly bent. A loose belt ring is attached to a band, with a D loop at the back, 70 mm from the throat.
