1943-06-08. AERIAL PORT SIDE VIEW OF THE CRUISER HMAS HOBART (I). THE HOBART IS PAINTED IN A CAMOUFLAGE SCHEME OF ALL OVER DARK GREY (G10). THE CLOSE RANGE ARMAMENT HAS BEEN STRENGTHENED WITH 20 MM OERLIKON AA GUNS NOTICEABLE ON B AND X TURRETS, IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE BRIDGE AND IN THE AFTER SUPERSTRUCTURE. THERE IS A QUADRUPLE 2 POUNDER AA MOUNTING ON THE QUARTERDECK. TYPE 271 SURFACE SEARCH RADAR IS FITTED BETWEEN THE AFTER FUNNEL AND THE MAINMAST, SC-1 AIR SEARCH RADAR AT THE HEAD OF THE FOREMAST AND TYPE 284 FIRE CONTROL RADAR TO THE MAIN ARMAMENT DIRECTOR.
