Description
Extensive collection of letters to his family, describing commando training, unit administration, the role of independent companies, home situation, active service against the Japanese in New Guinea, illnesses, CMF, Americans, natives, supply difficulties, air raids and battles, ambushes, terrain and climate. Includes comments on senior allied officers (Savige, MacArthur), war correspondents (Parer), and Australian attitudes to the war.
