Hand made cricket ball : Changi Prisoner of War Camp
Description
Hand made cricket ball with solid centre. The ball has been wrapped with black cotton twine and secured with thick white cotton stitches.
History / Summary
This cricket ball was made by a civilian internee at Changi Prisoner of War camp. It was brought to Australia after the end of the war by Ernest George Henty, a British internee who also kept diaries and records of cricket games played in the camp.
