Description
Monteith's "Observations of No 5886" (his regimental number) an autobiographical account of his family history, growing up in Victoria, military training as a cadet, enlistment in AIF, training in Egypt, fighting in Gallipoli, France, Western Front, Somme, Pozieres, Bullecourt and Ypres. He mentions his attitude to war and peace, casualties, discipline and touring while on leave.
