French Infantry Officer's Sword and Scabbard
Description
French Infantry Officer's sword and scabbard. The brass three bar hilt has a cast floral design to parts of the guard and pommel. The grip is a green brown horn bound with brass wire. The curved blade has single fuller to each side to within 170 mm of the point and has been sharpened for half the lower length. The ricasso has an oval trade mark of G.BARRE FABI A PARIS. The nickel plated steel scabbard has a single loose hanger ring on a fixed band 90 mm from the throat.
