The Thief of Baghdad
Description
This satirical poster was based on the movie 'The Thief of Baghdad' which was first released in 1924. The poster's headline reads: 'Back by popular demand, Now Showing with an international cast of thousands, and thousands, and thousands and..... Marquis De Saddam Hussein as the Thief of Baghdad.' Saddam Hussein is shown riding a horse clutching a screaming woman. The woman wears a dress with the word 'Kuwait' written upon it. Saddam is followed by a group of men riding horses. On the horizon oil fields and a palatial city is visible. The poster was produced in response to the First Gulf War (1990-91).
