Description

Letters spanning service from training in Cowra in 1941 through to discharge in 1946. Covers service in Palestine and Syria with the Sound Ranging Battery and the 1st Battery, 2/1 Survey Regiment, return to Australia, piquet duty in Adelaide, service and training on the Brisbane Line, transfer to 2/17 Battery, 2/9 Australian Army Field Regiment, service with 1st Australian Water Transport and 12 Australian Small Ships Company in the South Pacific and New Guinea, and finally service with British Borneo Civil Affairs Unit, Marine Section. The letters largely document Roughley's personal concerns and activities. Includes souvenirs, news clippings, and photograph albums. See also P01568.
