Ride, Lindsay Tasman (Colonel)
Description
Black and white photocopy of a report on the activities of a MI9/19 organisation operating in South China compiled by Colonel Ride, the commandant of British Army Aid Group in China. The British Army Aid Group operated in China from 1942-1945 as an escape and evacuation organisation which developed from a scheme at the Sham Shui Po Prisoner of War Camp. The scheme involved aid to prisoners, passing of medical supplies, information and arranging escapes. Ride worked with a team of Chinese, some escaped prisoners administered through the British Military Attache. The BAAG was part of MI9 undertaking intelligence gathering.
