Description
Personal war diary "Diary of a Sapper" written in narrative. Records enlistment, signals training, comments on travels and local inhabitants, attitude to NCOs accommodation, military activities, leave, illnesses, signals/lines work, move to France (Albert, Noreiul, Baupaume, Vernes, Warloy). Also describes signallers' attitude to drill, regimentation, the King's visit to the front and military police. Corrected version of transcript received 24/12/98.
