Description
Construction by 'A' Detachment, No 5 Airfield Construction Squadron (5ACS) on the ancillary workshops area nears completion at No 9 Squadron, RAAF. The Detachment operated at Vung Tau from 13 May 1966, erecting a Bellman hangar, building the runway and living quarters. No 9 Squadron's Engineering Officer, 218723 Flight Lieutenant Keith James Taylor, of Red Hill, ACT, (second from right), confers with staff about the construction. They are standing next to one of four 'Conex' shipping containers which were used to temporarily house storage, workshop radio, medical and armament sections.
