This film was made by the Royal Armoured Corps School of Tank Technology with assistance from the Imperial War Museum. Traces the development of the tank up to the end of the 1914-1918 war including some vehicles which were produced too late to be used in action. Uses archival film to show how the search for mobility led from armoured cars through tractors to the tank. The majority of the tanks of the period are shown including some specialist vehicles and briefly several French and German AFVs.
